REHEARSAL BLOG #1

Group members:

- Freddie playing Dr Rank
- Chloe playing Nora

In todays lesson we were given our duologues and our partners. Unfortunately, mine was off sick in this lesson, so I spent the whole lesson going over the scene and analysing it so that it would be easier to come at at a later date when we have our first run through together.

Initial ideas of how to stage the scene:

As our piece was to be done in the style of Stanislavski and his works, I already knew that we would need to set this in a naturalistic way, which meant miming things would not be an option so we would have to use what we have around us.

When it comes to the resources that I was already aware that we would have access to this consisted of tables and chairs, which would then allow us to be able to set up a basic dinning room section and living room as the scene took part across these two rooms.

What interests me about this scene:

When it comes to this scene, When I first saw it I wondered how we would be able to work with what we had to make the scene look as legit as possible. When it comes to the aspect of the scene that interests me the most it is the playfulness that can be seen from both characters while knowing a depressing matter is at hand ( Dr Rank dying). I like the friendship between the two characters and believe that this could be a fun thing to explore when it comes to how to stage it to make it feel legit.

What I am nervous about with this duologue:

With this scene the thing I am most nervous about is my ability to play the character given to me whilst being able to make it seem legit and not to stage like and more realistic so it feels like you are spying on the characters life. Along with this I am nervous about performing it to the whole class as this will be the first proper script work that I will perform to my whole class.
