rehearsal blog #10
Date : 24th March
Group members present : Chloe, Sam, Emma, Melissa, Adama, Saskia
Today we had a whole college day to work on our piece where in the first half of the day we teached our piece and had some time to consider things that we would need for the piece when it came to lighting and set and also costume. Then during our second half, we focused on working on a music list for our tech person and then we finalised up our board game scene along with practicing each of our scenes in the performance so we could highlight any final errors or areas that needed to be improved.

No videos or images apparent/ recorded from this session.Moments of discovery or concerns/ problems
In todays lesson, we where the second group to go ahead and tech our piece, so while the other group was doing their tech we were given half of our main space in which would could practice piece of our work. For our group we started off using some of our time to work on some of our scenes and how we would flow some of them into others so that it would not be much of a hassle when we came to do it in the space that we would be doing it in the real thing. While doing this we ran into multiple problems in that some people were arriving at scenes to quickly or that the transitions between scenes where not flowing as we planned, so we spent a while on this to make sure that it would flow nicely for the real thing. After we had spent some time working on this, around 20 minutes before our tech we all sat down as a group so that we could run through our blocking also establish different piece of set and props that we would need for our piece.
After this we finally got to tech our piece. Initially, after getting all of our rooms set up, the tech was going smoothly with little to no errors at all. However over time we ran into some issues in that some things were not working our as planned in the transitions. We already thought that this might become apparent due to the fact we had never done them in that space before however some of them meant that we had to change certain aspects of scenes, which for us was a real set back. Along with this it became apparent that not a lot of scene movements had motives, so after the tech we were left with a lot to think about and consider when it came to our piece.
In our afternoon session of the day we mainly worked on making sure that we had put together a music list for our tech man so that he could begin to sort out all our music tracks. This did not take us to long which was very handy and gave us more time to polish up our scenes and to make sure that every scene flowed perfectly into another. When it came to this we discovered that some of the blocks that we had made were not working so we had to change them about in order to make the piece work, but this was not that big of a set back.
Resources used today
In todays lesson we did not use many resources when it came to the rehearsal aspects of our piece. However this was the day where we gathered all the songs that we wanted for the piece.
Reflection on my contribution to the group and how well the group as a whole worked today
In todays lesson I believe that I was one of the main people contributing when it came to the tech aspect of our piece - this was in the way that I seemed to be one of the main people that knew what they were doing/ talking about when it came to the scenes. However, me and my whole group worked well together today even though we had some rough patches in logical errors in how things would flow.
