Rehearsal blog #4

Date : 2nd March

Group members present : Chloe, Sam, Emma, Melissa, Adama, Saskia

Activities we did: We spent a while discussing where different elements we had already created would go and then we spilt of into groups where we had Sam working with Melissa on their argument scene so they could refine it, Emma and Saskia working on their chair duet and argument scene, Adama helping out with feedback along with work on her own characters scene and I helped work on my duologue scene and how we could block each room when it came to what they work so the scenes would flow nicely.

Moments of discovery or concerns/ problems

For me when it came to todays rehearsal I really wanted to start focusing on how and where we would block every scene so that we could make sure that what we got so far would flow nicely. When it came to organising them we realised that certain scenes would not work in certain rooms or wouldn't flow together so we would need to move scenes from rooms and add more scenes. However we discovered that in how we had already planned stuff as in the rooms we wanted them to take place in that we had unconsciously already decided the rooms and they worked quite well where they were placed for the whole show.

When it came to working on my duologue and ideas of how it could be done there were a lot of ideas that came with it, so I wanted to keep whatever scripted stuff free flowing so that it could be joined to any way we plan to set it. I did struggle at the start on what I could talk about when it came to it, but over time I ended up with a little bit of script that I could use to base the whole duologue on.

Resources used today 

When it came to resources that were used today, all I used was past planning documents we made along with the script of A Dolls House.

Reflection on my contribution to the group and how well the group as a whole worked today

Today I think that although I did not directly work and develop any physical parts of the piece I helped out a lot when it came to what we wanted to be in each block for the moment with what scene that we had already got developed. I would have like to have contributed more physically when it came to the scenes and I plan to do this in our next rehearsal.
