Rehearsal blog #5
Date : 3rd March
Group members present : Chloe, Sam, Emma, Melissa, Adama, Saskia
Activities we did: In this lesson we started off by being given a piece of stimulus in which we worked on together to see if it would work with our piece, then we spilt off into two groups, Sam and Melissa worked on their argument scene and finished it, and Emma, Adama, Saskia and I explored how we could use curtains in our piece to create a meaningful scene. To wrap things up we came together to give each other feedback on our scenes and ran through our dinning room slow Mo scene.

Moments of discovery or concerns/ problems
In todays lesson we started off with a stimulus that we were given and this was a piece of script for a contemporary re-telling of A Dolls House. together we worked effectively to find way in which we could use it and it could be interesting for an audience perspective and we did this in the way of splitting up the script between us to create a vocally interesting piece. From this stimulus, even though we did not feel that it would go well, we discovered that this idea was quite effective and could be used in our final piece.
After this we then spilt off into groups in which my group wanted to play around with seeing how we could incorporate curtains into a scene. The initial idea was off to a rocky start however overtime we started to create a piece of work that was very visually interesting from an audience perspective and flowed well. However, once we were given feedback from our teacher we discovered that it did not really have much of a purpose and it made some of us have to drop our characters which could not be done in this punch drunk style of theatre. So although we were very proud of this scene, we had to drop it for the time being as we could not find a way for it to flow in with the work we had already created.
Resources used today
When it came to the resources that we used today, the only major thing used was the script for a contemporary re-telling of A Dolls House that was given to us in the lesson.
Reflection on my contribution to the group and how well the group as a whole worked today
When it came to my contribution today, I felt that I contributed more physically this time when it came to working on scenes and along with this I helped give feedback on Sam and Melissa's argument scene. I think the way that we all worked together today was effective and we really were able to come together and bounce our arguments off of each other to create work that was worth while and made everyone in the group pleased.
